PRESENTATION

This postgraduate programme awards students a Master degree (approved by the French state) from the École de Design de Nantes, as well as the CAD diploma. This study cycle allows students to prepare for their professional integration through internships and management courses, in addition to design courses and a study period abroad. During this 2-year cycle, students must complete two 3-month internships, at least one of which must be abroad (outside of Belgium and outside of their country of origin).

Students study for a semester in one of the 3 studios organised by the École de Design de Nantes and hosted in prestigious universities in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Shanghai (China), or Cotonou (Benin).

During these two years, students will work on more transversal and transcultural themes. Finally, students will present their entire course to a jury of professionals who are authorised to award the CAD and École de Design de Nantes diplomas. The latter diploma has the ‘Grade de Master’ approved by the State.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES

The CAD is an international institution. The classes are taught in English allowing our students to obtain internships abroad, take part in international workshops and get acquainted with foreign cultures through cultural visits and trips organized each year.

All those international experiences give the opportunity to our students to pursue international careers all over the world.

YEARLY SCHEDULE

The 2 years are divided in 4 semesters

Classes begin on October 6th

  • Year 1 – S1: October – November – December -January- February
  • Year 1 – S2: February – March – April- May – June
  • Year 2 – S3: September – October – November – December -January- February
  • Year 2 – S4: March – April- May – June

Year 1

  • Start of Academic Year: the first Monday of October
  • First semester is animated by a transversal project in Brussels
  • Second semester is spent in one of the 3 “studios” in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Shanghai (China), or Cotonou (Benin).

Year 2

  • Start of Academic Year: the first Monday of September
  • First semester is driven by the end of studies project and business management courses including classes in accounting, taxation, entrepreneurship, law, and professional ethics
  • 2 x 3 months in an Architecture office, Interior Architecture office, Design or Scenography studio to do between February and the end of September.

TUITION :

EU Students :

The tuition fees are 9,500 EUR per year (9,200 EUR + 300 EUR registration fee*) :

  • 300 EUR + 3,100 EUR i.e. 3,400 EUR (1st third of costs) payable upon registration
  • 3,050 EUR (2nd third of costs) paid by June 30th
  • 3,050 EUR (Final third of costs) paid by September 15th

A staggered payment plan is possible for some residents (upon acceptance and subject to a surcharge of 300 EUR).

Non EU Students :

11,000 EUR per year (10,700 EUR + 300 EUR registration fee*)
The total amount must be paid at the time of final registration in order to start the visa procedure if required.

For international transfers, bank fees are payable by the sender.

Tuition fees do not include cultural visits and study trips.

*Registration fee: this amount covers general administrative costs as well as individual insurance (taken out by the CAD) in case of any accident on the school premises.

Remarks
– The CAD does not accept bank cheques. Tuition fees must be paid into one of the school’s bank accounts. For international transfers, bank charges are at the expense of the originator.
– Tuition fees remain as announced at the time of registration for the entire programme (except for students repeating the first year, if the price increases) unless inflation exceeds 5% per year, in which case the fees will be indexed.
– Since the number of students admitted each year is limited, the full tuition fee is due even in case of withdrawal or exclusion from the course.

CERTIFICATES

The CAD graduate who chooses the MDes (double degree master’s) will be awarded a double certificate: one from the CAD and one from the Ecole de Design de Nantes (a state approved diploma conferring a master’s degree.)
