PRESENTATION

Starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, CAD offers a one-year M.A. in Furniture & Product Design, worth 60 ECTS. This program will allow students to obtain a dual certification from CAD and the Collège de Paris, recognized in 180 countries worldwide.
The program requires students to attend approximately 25 hours of classes per week.

Courses are structured over two semesters. The academic year begins on October 5th, 2026, and ends on June 30th, 2027.

Design is Art with Responsibility

This statement by Marcel Breuer perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Master Furniture & Product Design at the College of Art & Design.

The program trains designers to go beyond form and aesthetics, and to create meaningful, functional, and responsible objects. Students learn to question how our future environments are shaped, and how design can respond to real user needs while addressing industrial, economic, and environmental challenges.

From furniture and lighting to tableware, urban furniture, appliances, and decorative objects, the fields of application are wide and constantly evolving. The Master is rooted in a demanding European industrial context, where creativity must meet technical expertise and production realities.

Through real-life projects developed in collaboration with professionals, brands, workshops, factories, and institutions, students acquire the skills needed to manage the entire design process — from concept to prototype, from production to market.

The Master Furniture & Product Design prepares responsible designers capable of transforming ideas into production-ready solutions with a real impact.

The program is divided into 3 phases.

1. Semester 1
2. Semester 2

An evaluation will take place at the end of the first semester, but overall, the two semesters will follow a continuous learning process.

The program is taught by professional designers actively working in the industry, specializing in the various fields covered.

Students will be introduced to:

CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS

In France, Switzerland and Belgium, privateinstitutions cannot use the word Master in their programmes. We therefore use the terms Postgraduates 2° CYCLE (1 year – 60 ECTS) M.A. Note that these diplomas are equivalent to Master’s degrees, but are not state- approved diplomas.
